medcom.id, Jakarta: Basuki Tjahaja Purnama welcomes the possibility of being supported by NasDem Party in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election. He said relationship between him and NasDem is good.
"I have always wanted to get its support (NasDem)," said Ahok, Basuki's nickname, in Jakarta, Monday (1/18/2016).
Not only NasDem, Ahok also claimed he has good relationship with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P). In the last election, Ahok who run as vice governor candidate, was supported by PDI-P and Gerindra Party.
On the next election, Ahok most likely will not get support from Gerindra after he resigned from the party due to conflict of interests. Ahok also often has argument with Gerindra's Jakarta branch chief M Taufik.
Previously, the Chairman of NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, revealed his interest to Ahok. Paloh also praised the quality of Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil, as well as Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini.
However, according to Paloh, NasDem's priority is to support Ahok. Paloh assessed that as long as Ahok does not make any mistakes, supporting him as DKI 1 (nickname for Jakarta Governor) is the right decision.
"So far, we (NasDem) count on Ahok," mentioned Paloh on Friday, January 15.
