"Before the reclamation, there were plenty of crabs. At the time, I could buy four to five quintals of crabs from fishermen," he said at his home in Dadap, Sunday (4/24/2016).
The father of two said previously he had more than 50 workers to clean and skin the crabs. "Now i only get several kilos in a day, I would rather do it myself," continued the man.
"Fish collectors used to have great smell. Now they have fishy smell," mentioned Maryono, 51, a fisherman jokingly.
Another fish collector, Iwan, also has similar fate. While showing the empty 5x7 meter warehouse, where he used to stash his fish, Iwan told the challenge faced by the fish collectors in Dadap's fishermen village.
"Now, everything is rare, be it small crabs, fish, shrimp, and even milkfish," he concluded.
