medcom.id, Jakarta: Directorate of Investigation of the Jakarta Police revealed Crystal Methamphetamine smuggler syndicate with 360 kilograms of evidence. Aside from securing evidence, the police have arrested CT, a Hong Kong citizen.
CT was arrested as conducting a transaction at the Bisnis Park Office Complex, Pluit Karang Karya Timur, North Jakarta, on Friday, July 10, 2015. The operation was conducted with cooperation between the Indonesian Police and Hong Kong Police.
"Jakarta Police had managed to take action on drug distribution at around 360 kilograms, as it was previously estimated to be 400 kilograms, but after further checking, it goes at around 360 kilograms," Indonesian Police Chief Badrodin Haiti said in a narcotic press release at the Jakarta Police Headquarters, Sudirman Street, South Jakarta, Wednesday (7/15/2015).
Aside from CT, officers also arrested an Indonesian citizen with the initial MW. He was a courier hired by CT, while other two were named as fugitives: ALG and JCK, both Hong Kong citizens.
Badrodin said that the evidence seized by the police was worth at around Rp574.4 billion. It was assumed with the price per gram at around Rp1.5 million.
"From the evidence seized by the Jakarta Police Narcotics Division, it has saved at around 1.8 million souls from drug abuse," he concluded.
For his actions, the suspect is facing Article 114 Paragraph (2) subsidiary of Artice 112 Paragraph (2) Jo 132 Paragraph (1) of Indonesian Law No. 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics with at least five years of sentence and maximum penalty of death, as well as a minimum of Rp1 billion or a maximum of Rp10 billion in fine.
