medcom.id, Jakarta: Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto through his lawyer, Firman Wijaya, reported the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said to the Police Headquarters. According to Firman, the report was based on his client's resentment to Sudirman.
Novanto reported Sudirman as he felt he was framed. Sudirman is considered to have defamed Novanto's name.
"He is already bitter! It takes serious measure, then we complete the accusation report. After attacking Novanto's good name, it has to be taken seriously," said Firman after completing the report in Police Criminal Investigation Unit, South Jakarta, Wednesday (12/9/2015).
The report was also placed to answer to the public. Novanto wants to prove that the accusation of the misuse against the names of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla, in relation to the work contract extension of PT Freeport Indonesia, is totally untrue.
Novanto and his legal team have also prepared various evidence, among others, the statement of Sudirman when he reported to the Council Honor Board. The report was considered as an accusation, as Novanto deplored Sudirman's action, which had gone too far.
"(Reporting) is a form of Setnov's defense," added Firman.
Firman is also suspicious on the possibility of third party involvement. The misuse of the president's name, he suspected, has been planned. The report was filed by Novanto's party on Tuesday evening, December 8. The presence of Firman today was to complete the report filing.
