Official Explanation on Military Chopper Crash in Poso

medcom.id, Jakarta: TNI spokersperson Major General Tatang Sulaiman confirmed the crash incident involving army chopper in Central Sulawesi.
 
Tatang explained the chopper went from Napu village to Poso at 17.20 Central Indonesian Time. At 17.55, the chopper crashed at a plantation in Poso Pesisir district.
 
"The chopper crashed ten minutes before its destinated landing location," stated Tatang at TNI headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Sunday (3/20/2016).
 
He mentioned the chopper experienced bad weather in the location. "Heavy rain for around 10 minutes," he added.
 
Official suspects the accident happened due to bad weather. TNI is still investigating the case.
 
The chopper is part of operation to capture terror group in Poso led by Santoso. There is rumor that the chopper was shot down by Santoso.
 
"Don't make rumor. I don't know the actual height. We are still investigating. But ten minutes before landing is still high," underlined Tatang.
 
There were 13 victims in the accidentt. Seven are passengers while six are pilot and crew.
