medcom.id, Jakarta: PDIP politician Andreas Hugo Pareira said his party also supports higher parliamentary threshold.
"We need to reduce the number of political parties in the parliament. It will simplify decision making process," said Andreas at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/26).
"I think 5-6 percent is ideal," he continued.
Previously, Nasdem politician Jhonny G. Plate proposed parliamentary threshold to be increased from 3.5 percent to 7 percent.
"Political parties have to prepare strategies to pass the parliamentary threshold," Johnny stated.
The government submitted the general election draft bill to the House of Representatives last week. The next legislative election will be held in 2019.
