medcom.id, Denpasar: An explosion on a fast boat in Bali has killed 2 foreigners and injured 20 others.
National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesperson Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the incident killed two women named Venessa Pascual Fernandes and Katrin Zeferrer.
"Based on information from Sanglah General Hospital," Sutopo said in a written statement on Thursday (9/15) night.
Gili Cat 2 fast boat departed from Padangbai Port on Thursday (9/15) morning. It brought 35 foreign tourists and four Indonesian crew.
The passengers heard an explosion ten minutes after the departure. They tried to escape the boat causing deaths and injuries.
