medcom.id, Jakarta: The Head of National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Budi Waseso proposed the creation of special court for drug-related crime.
"We want something like that. We want special court for drug-related crime. It will be similar with special court for corruption," said Budi at his office, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/4/2016).
Budi claimed his agency is ready to gather attorneys and judges for the special court. They plans to recruit officials from the Attorney General's Office. "It will have its own attorneys and judges," he continued.
He also reiterated proposal to build special prison for drug convicts. Around 60 percent of total inmates in Indonesia are drug convicts. He believes special prison will help his agency to monitor the drug convicts.

"It (the special prison) will make us more focus. The plan is still being discussed by the House of Representatives," he stated.
BNN recently revealed drug networks in several prisons in Indonesia with drug transactions worth around Rp3.6 trillion. According to Budi, drug syndicates flourish inside prisons due to lack of supervision.
In the beginning of the year, Budi admitted his agency has difficulties to eradicate drug networks in prisons. He openly suspected some prison wardens cooperate with drug convicts.
