medcom.id, Jakarta: Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan turned down position as a deputy chief of an honorary council in Golkar Party.
Luhut stated that he has informed his decision to Golkar Chairman Setya Novanto. "I have turned down the offer. Thank you for Golkar," he said at the Vice President's Office here, Tuesday (5/31/2016).
The retired general explained he is very busy as minister in the Working Cabinet. "So i can't (take the position) he continued.
Golkar just announced the new composition of its executive board. Aburizal Bakrie received position as chief of an advisory council, while Agung Laksono will lead the expert council.
President Joko Widodo has repeatedly warned his cabinet members not to take position in political parties. He is worried they will not focus on their jobs.
