Metrovnews.com, Semarang: The government beefs up security in Nusakambangan Island in Cilacap, Central Java ahead of executions scheduled for this year.
"We put surveillance cameras in every corner," said Law and Human Rights Ministry Central Java Chapter head Bambang Sumardiyono in Semarang, Tuesday (5/10/2016).
Bambang denied the action taken solely because of the executions. He explained the island are lacking of security guards.
He said Batu Prison, one of the prisons in the island, only has nine security guards. The prison ideally has fifteen guards.
Regarding the time of executions, Bambang mentioned that he has not received information about the exact date. "We have not received confirmation," he stated.
