medcom.id, Jakarta: An eight-year old boy, with an initial of 'D', was abandoned by his parents for the past month. His parents had forbid him from entering their home.
Chairman of Indonesian Child Protection Agency Niam Sholeh said during that time, D have slept in the security post of Citra Gran Cibubur Housing Complex, Nusa Dua Cluster, E Block, where his house is located.
"On the daytime, he strolls around the complex with his bicycle since he was forbidden from entering his house by the parents," Niam said to Metrotvnews.com, Thursday (5/14/2015).
This incident was finally revealed when D spoke to the neighbors. "D was also banned from going to school since last month," Niam explained.
Officials from the Violent Crime of the Public Crime Investigative Directorate of Jakarta Police have arrested the two parents neglecting their son in Cibubur. The father works as a lecturer in an college in Cileungsi, Bogor.
"Utomo Pernomo, with occupation of technical industry lecturer for Technological College of Muhamadiyah Cilengsi," said the Head of Violent Crime Sub Unit, Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) Herry Heryawan when explaining the father's occupation.
Meanwhile, the mother of the victim was a housewife. Both were arrested at around 12.00PM local time at their house, Citra Gran Cluster Nusa Dua Block E No. 37, Cibubur, Pondok Gede, Bekasi.
Herry stated both parents violated Law No. 35 Year 2014 Article 76b and 77b, with a threat of five years in prison and Rp100 million in fine.
This is not the first time D has been expelled by their parents from home. "It can be said that this is the second period for the past month. They did it first at the end of last year," Head of the Neighborhood (RT) 03 Sugeng said.
According to him, neighborhood officials at that time have warned D's father, Utomo Permono, not to expel his son again. Neighbors have threatened to drive them out if such actions were repeated. Utomo agreed on that.
"The former neighborhood chief was a (military) General, so maybe he was afraid and complied," Sugeng explained.
But the expelling happened again. For the past month, D was unable to enter the house and completely abandoned by his family. D was not provided with food and not allowed to go to school. "He slept at the security post, but for the past week, he has been sleeping over at a neighbor's house," Sugeng concluded.
Earlier today, the joint team of Indonesian Child Protection Agency, Ministry of Social Affairs and the police have evacuated D to a safe place. "He was brought to a safe house, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs," Niam confirmed. (Eps)
