medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) will question the captain of the Zahro Express ferry.
The vessel caught fire off Muara Angke Port in North Jakarta on Sunday, January 1, 2016. The incident killed at least 23 passengers and injured dozens.
"We will question the captain," KNKT head Soerjanto Tjahjono said here on Monday (1/2).
Previously, the Transportation Ministry criticized the captain who allegedly fled when the vessel caught fire.
"The captain should never sail again," Transportation Ministry sea transportation director general Antonius Tonny Budiono.
The police have arrested the captain. They also have detained the other crew.
