medcom.id, Jakarta: National Police Chief, General Badrodin Haiti, reaffirmed that the terror incidents against the churches in Bantul, Yogyakarta and Purworejo, Central Java, were not related to Tolikara, Papua. The terror on both regions, he stated, was a continuation of the previous conflicts.
"In Yogyakarta, there were previous conflicts related to church establishment permit," said Badrodin at the Attorney General following the ceremony of the 55th Bhakti Adhyaksa Commemoration at Jalan Sultan Hasanudin, South Jakarta, Wednesday (7/22/2015).
The four star general continued that the establishment of the church was protested, as the public saw that the construction has no permits.
"There were protest and permit was not granted. It could be an accumulation," he stated.
Badrodin revealed there were several witnesses examined on both terror cases. However, he declined in deliberating the detailed investigation. There were no parties named to be the most responsible for the case.
"We have no suspects yet," he said.
Previously, the Head of Public Information Bureau of the Public Relation Division of the National Police Brigadier General Agus Riyanto had urged that the religious worship house terror cases in Central Java and Yogyakarta to be separated from the riots in Tolikara, Papua.
However Agus explained the police is to investigate and prevent similar terror acts. "We investigate. Let us be cautious and watch over our respective environments," he stated.
On Monday, July 20, two churches in Purworejo, Central Java and Bantul, Yogyakarta, were terrorized by unknown people. Both churches were about to be set on fire by using burned used tyre brought by motorcycle riders. (EPS)
