medcom.id, Jakarta: After succeeded to persuade Din Minimi armed group to surrender, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) now eyes Free Papua Movement (OPM).

"With OPM, we will also use soft approach," mentioned BIN Chief Sutiyoso Halim Perdana Kusuma airport, East Jakarta, Tuesday (12/29/2015).

The former Kopassus leader revealed that it is possible that he would meet Benny Wenda, the Papuan separatist figure in his office in London, England. He hoped he could soften Benny Wenda.

Nevertheless, Sutiyoso admitted soft approach is not the only measure taken to make OPM surrenders. If needed, strict actions could be implemented too.

"It is not the only measure. When soft approach fails, law enforcers have to use other measures that we can't avoid," mentioned Sutiyoso.

He affirmed that the important thing is maintaining security for local residents. Currently, government has not conducted any approach to OPM.

"Clearly, President Joko Widodo's instruction said peaceful approach, but until now, there is no (discussions) yet," concluded Sutiyoso.

Tension in Papua increased following an attack to police office in Sinak, Papua, on Sunday (12/27/2015). The perpretators shot three officers to death.
