medcom.id, Batam: A boat to Indonesia from Malaysia sank in Batam waters this morning. The boat carried 93 Indonesian migrant workers.
The incident killed at least 18 people. Meanwhile, 36 are still missing.
A joint search and rescue team are still searching for the missing. A navy ship is combing the area.
"Our team with the Water Police (Polair) and the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) are still searching for the missing," said Naval Main Base IV spokesman Major Josdy on Wednesday (10/11).
The boat reportedly sank because of bad weather.
