medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo did not appoint the Retired Lieutenant General Sutiyoso as the candidate for the Head of National Intelligence Agency (BIN). Sutiyoso's appointment is based on his competence and track records in the defense and intelligence world.
"The candidacy of Sutiyoso as the Head of BIN had gone though many considerations, as it observed both the track records and competency of Mr. Sutiyoso especially in the intelligence and military world," Jokowi said at his residence in Kutai road, Sumber, Solo, Wednesday (6/2015).
Sutiyoso was a retired Lt. General of the Military. He had taken the position as the Commander General of the Special Force Command (Kopassus). He was also posted as the Commander of Jakarta Military Region, before 'pulled' in becoming Jakarta's Governor.
Jokowi hopes that the House may pass Sutiyoso as the number one person in BIN. "I hope the House provided considerations for the envoy," he stated.
The letter of appointment for the Chairman of the Indonesian Justice Unity Party (PKPI) was sent by the State Palace to the board last evening, Tuesday June 9. The letter will be followed up on the plenary session and to be forwarded to the Deliberation Council. (Eps)
