medcom.id, Jakarta: Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed that the House leaders have received letter from President Joko Widodo on the appointment of Military Commander in Chief.

President Jokowi appointed Army Chief of Staff General Gatot Nurmantyo to replace General Moeldoko.

"I have seen the copy in a glance, there is only one name, Gatot Nurmantyo from the Army," Fahri said at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/9/2015).

According to Fahri, even it is the President's prerogative, his party hopes that Jokowi may explain the appointment of Gatot as the commander.

"There is no violations in the law, but this changed the consensus built within ten years by President SBY," he explained.

Fahri affirmed his side does not accuse the President of having political motive in the appointment of the Military Commander in Chief.

"But what we hoped for is the President to provide specific explanation. For example, if he said prerogative right, it is common. But however, changing habits need an explanation," the PKS politician stated. (Eps)
