medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) delivered short speech to the December 2 rally participants.
Jokowi praised the peaceful rally. He also appreciated the rally participants.
"I highly appreciate the rally participants," Jokowi said on Friday (2/12).
Muslim conservatives started the rally in the morning. They assembled at the National Monument.
Jokowi arrived at the National Monument before Friday prayer. He attended the rally along with Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and National Armed Forces chief Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo.
