medcom.id, Jakarta: The Democratic Party has criticized the Home Ministry for allowing incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) to return to his position.

Ahok took leave during the Jakarta gubernatorial election campaign period. He took leave for four months from October 28 to February 11.

Last November, Ahok was named as a suspect in a blasphemy case. Currently, he is the defendant in the blasphemy trial.

"The Home Ministry must suspend Ahok," Democratic Party politician Agus Hermanto said in Jakarta on Monday.

The Democratic Party will propose a parliamentary investigation. It will approach other political parties.

"We will seek justice," Agus stated.

The Jakarta gubernatorial election will be held on February 15. It will be competed by Ahok, Anies Baswedan and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
