medcom.id, Jakarta: Led by Rizal Ramli, the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime changes its name into the Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Resources. The name change was conducted based on President Joko Widodo's directions.
Former member of the National Unity Cabinet during President Abdurrahman Wahid's administration said that when meeting President Jokowi a couple of days ago, Jokowi ordered to add the 'Resources' part of the name.
"Then the President said, Rizal, we change the name. So it's not the Maritime Coordinating Ministry anymore, but Maritime and Resources Coordinating Ministry," Rizal said when conveying a welcoming speech at the handover ceremony, in the ministry's office in Jalan MH Thamrin, Jakarta, Thursday (8/13/2015).
He approved that as saying that he added two more sectors to complete the previous sectors, fishery, transportation, tourism and energy. But he did not mention specifically the two additional sectors.
"From the current sectors, there will be two more sectors," he explained.
As informed, Rizal Ramli is an economist known in international network, as he was trusted as the UN economic advisor along with other international economists.
He had the Doctorate of Economy from Boston University in 1990, as titled "the Breaker" when holding the title of Coordinating Minister of Economy, as his ideas were unconventional and putting forward the interests.
