medcom.id, Jakarta: Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto has officially resigned from his position, thus leaving a vacancy at the number one seat in the parliament.
Member of Commission I from the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Fraction, Tubagus Hasanuddin urged a reshuffle of the House's leadership to fill the void, as well as replacing the entire leaders of the House.
"Now, how is it after the Speaker of the House is void? My suggestion is to reshuffle according to the logic of conducting good governance," mentioned TB Hasanuddin in his statement, Wednesday evening (12/16/2015).
Retired Major General of TNI (Indonesian Military) also urged for the MD3 Law which regulates on the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), DPR, Regional Councils (DPD) and Regional Representatives (DPRD) to be revised soon. He considered the current law as a contrived and deceitful product disrupting the healthy logic and the order of democratic environment.
He mentioned a comparison of the MD3 Law with a marathon competition. The runner achieving first place is not awarded with any medals, as the last place had won one in a lottery basis.
"It is completely ironic and once again a harassment over the people's sovereignty. Politic is an art, but it does not mean all tricky moves are used to eliminate the rivals," he affirmed.
Moreover, TB Hasanuddin suggested for all political party leaders to have a discussion and ordered their factions in the House to amend the law. At the very least the revision must be based on 2009 MD3 Draft.
The 2009 draft stipulated the winner of the election is entitled to be seated at the number one seat on the parliament. "Following the MD3 Law amendment, God willing, the performance of the House will rise again," he concluded.
