medcom.id, Jakarta: Functional Group Party (Golkar) received one ministerial post in the cabinet. President Joko Widodo appointed Golkar politician Airlangga Hartarto as Minister of Industry.
Golkar declared their support to the government last January. Previously, the party was in the opposition bloc with Great Indonesian Movement Party (Gerindra) and Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
"This is the result of lobbies from Golkar," said political observer, Burhanuddin Muhtadi to Metro TV, on Wednesday (7/27/2016).
National Mandate Party (PAN) also received one position in the cabinet. PAN politician Asman Abnu replaced Yuddy Chrisnandi as Minister of Addminstrative and Bureacratic Reform.
Similar with Golkar, PAN also recently moved from opposition bloc to the government's coalition.
Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) still hold the most ministerial posts in the cabinet with four ministers, followed by National Democratic Party (Nasdem) and National Awakening Party (PKB) with two ministers.
Meanwhile, United Development Party (PPP), Golkar and PAN have one minister in the cabinet. The remaining ministers are from professional background.
