medcom.id, Jakarta: The incident in Tolikara, Papua, continuously being investigated, as the conflict occurring on Eid al-Fitr 2015 had burnt down and ruined several kiosks and worship place.
Comic and presenter Pandji Pragiwaksono through the Kitabisa.com website managed to collect funds as many as Rp308,983,642 from 1185 donators to rebuild the mosque in Tolikara Regency, Papua.
The crowd funding initiative was planned for 30 days since the start of the campaign, following the incident on July 17. In reality, netizens have responded quickly to donate their money.
"Less than three days, the donation for Tolikara Mosque has been achieved, even went beyond target. Therefore we have decided to stop the crowd funding at this moment," Pandji wrote in kitabisa.com/masjidtolikara.
According to the plan, the collected fund will be transfered today, Friday (7/24/2015), to Bulan Sabit Merah Indonesia (BSMI) Jayawijaya branch, Papua.
"Thank God. The following, BSMI will coordinate with the Mosque caretaker and public figures in Karubaga to join the committee structure on the construction of Karubaga Mosque," stated Hamdani, a representative of BSMI Jayawijaya, through a press release received by Metrotvnews.com.
Hamdani also wished and prayed that the donations will be heavenly rewarded for those donating their money.
"Still in the Eid al-Fitr spirit, we have proven love prevails over vengeance and envy. What we fought for have been won," Pandji stated.
Not only the netizens responded in rebuilding Tolikara Mosque. Through the Change.org online petition, a netizen from Bandung, Maimon Herawati, gathered public support through the Change.org/Tolikara.
The petition was directed to President Joko Widodo, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim and National Police Chief Badrodin Haiti, as requesting that the case is thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators punished.
Within four days since it started, the petition titled "Investigate Tolikara Terror and Arrest the Suspects," have been supported by more than 30,000 signatures up to Thursday, July 23.
"We ask the government to be firm in mentioning the incident as an act of terror and has no involvements with any religious values," Maimon said in the petition. (EPS)
