medcom.id, Banda Aceh: Aceh Police captured one Malaysian boat in Aceh waters on Tuesday (2/16). The boat was captured for illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Aceh Police spokesperson Senior Comr. Pol. T Saladin said the boat was captured during regular patrol in Langsa waters. The police found one bout without flag named PKFB 1035.
"The boat is from Malaysia while the crew are from Thailand," said T Saladin to Metrotvnews.com, Tuesday (2/16/2016).
The police arrested four crew and confiscated the boat. If it is found guilty, the boat could be drowned by authority.
The crew currently is being investigated by Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry's officials.
"For the drowning of the boat, we wait the verdict from court," he concluded.
