Ahok Decides Not to Run as Independent, Wants to Meet Megawati

medcom.id, Jakarta: Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) has decided to run in 2017 gubernatorial election through political party system. He is planning to meet with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri. 
 
"I want to meet her," He said in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/27/2016).
 
Ahok will inform his decision to Megawati. PDIP is the largest political party in the capital.

"I want to inform my decision to her," he continued.
 
Ahok announced his decision on Wednesday (7/27 in front of his volunteers. He hopes his volunteers can cooperate with political parties.
 
Until now, three parties have given endorsements to the former East Belitung Regent: National Democrat Party (Nasdem), People's Conscience Party (Hanura) and Functional Group Party (Golkar).
