medcom.id, Jakarta : The rumor on the cabinet reshuffle again emerged within the past week. A political observer from the Indonesian Science Institution (LIPI), Ikrar Nusa Bhakti, assessed that the ministers from the non-party professionals are vulnerable in losing their seats.
Ikrar observed this from the first cabinet reshuffle. Five of the six minister removed were professionals.
"The dillema is always like this, where those sacrificed the most are from pure professionals. It is possible the these professionals [in the cabinet] are to be reshuffled," said Ikrar in Metro TV's Prime Time News, Saturday (4/2/2016).
According to Ikrar, kicking out the professionals have a very low risk. Meanwhile, reshuffling ministers from the parties may cause another ruckus.
Moreover if the position is replaced with other parties recently joining the government.
"On the other hand, the President needs support from the parties beyond the cabinet. There is a need to add more political parties in the cabinet to maintain good relations from executive and legislative," explained Ikrar.
The cabinet reshuffle is a prerogative right owned by the President. Ikrar believes that President Joko Widodo has the performance records of his ministers as considerations.
"President knows the ministers who talk a lot but do not work, and those keeping silence but performed very well. President has the records," concluded Ikrar.
