medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo ensured amnesty will be given to the Acehnese armed group led by Din Minimi after they agreed to surrender last month.
"The point is they will be given amnesty, but we shall see the legal procedure," mentioned Jokowi at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (1/5/2016).
The amnesty was mentioned when State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Head Sutiyoso. hold negotiation with the group. Amnesty is one of the demands from the group to Sutiyoso.
"Amnesty issue has been explained by BIN Head and it will be given" he added.
President appreciated Sutiyoso's persuasive approach in dealing with the armed group. He hoped that similar approach could be use in dealing with groups in Papua and Poso.
"We prioritize dialogue, like we did with the armed group in Aceh. We hope that it will continue to Papua and Poso," mentioned Jokowi.
