medcom.id, Jakarta: Golkar Party concluded its national leadership meeting on Thursday (7/28) night. The party officially declared incumbent President Joko Widodo as its presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election.
"Golkar Party declared Jokowi as its presidential candidate in 2019 presidential election," said the party's head of politics, law and security affair Yorrys Raweyai at the meeting.
Yorrys mentioned his party and Jokowi have similar visions. Furthermore, Jokowi also has the highest electability compared to other figures.
"We will promote inform the decision to all around Indonesia," added Golkar chairman Setya Novanto.
The meeting was attended by many top officials and political leaders including President Joko Widodo, Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.
