medcom.id, Jakarta: Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Attorney General M. Prasetyo denied the abolition of death row executions. The process is still ongoing.

As informed, last year the Attorney General's Office (AGO) executed 14 death row convicts in two stages. The first chapter was on January last year, with six death row inmates executed. The next phase was in April 2015, executing nine convicts. However, the next phase is yet to be determined.

According to Prasetyo, his party will still discuss the perfect time to conduct the next phase of executions. "We will see. I did not say that executions are not being continued, only the time we will set later," said Prasetyo at the AGO, Jalan Sultan Hasanudin, South Jakarta, Friday (3/18/2016).

Prasetyo also denied that the delay of the third phase of executions are not realised due to certain interests, such as bilateral relationships or economic factor.

He thinks the law enforcement in Indonesia is still running well, as it cannot be influenced by any interests, let alone being intervened.

"It is the legal entity in our country. And the positive law in Indonesia is still applying death penalties," he explained.
