medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo has issued a statement regarding Muslim hardliners plan to conduct a massive protest in Jakarta on November 4.
"The government will guarantee freedom of speech, but the government will also maintain public order," said Jokowi in a written statement on Monday (10/31).
Previously, National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian ensured the police wil secure the big rally. Tito urged people to avoid provocations.
"It should be peaceful," said Tito on Sunday (10//30).
A number of Islamic organizations will hold a massive protest against Jakarta governor candidate Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in the capital this week.
