medcom.id, Jakarta: Police office in Sinak, Papua was attacked by armed group on Sunday (12/27/2015) evening.
Cendrawasih Military Area Command Information Head Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Teguh Puji Rahardjo said the attack was allegedly done by Yambi group, a branch of Papuan separatist group.
At 20.30 evening, the first shot was heard near Sinak Police Office. Teguh explained It was meant to lure police officers outside. after that, the armed group entered the police office through back door.
"They then attacked," Teguh said, Monday (12/28/2015).
At 20.40, military came to help police. Three police officials were killed in the attack, while the other two were injured.
The armed group also stole weapons in the police office. They took two AK 47, two Moser, two SSI and one chest of ammunition.
