medcom.id, Jakarta: Religious freedom watchdog Wahid foundation published its annual report in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
The non-governmental organization recorded 313 religious freedom violations last year. As many as 159 violations were committed by state actors. The remaining 156 violations were committed by non-state actors.
Three mostly-commited violations by state actors were religious discrimination (36), religious criminalization (23), and religious apostasy (22).
Three mostly-committed violations by non-state actors were religious apostasy (29), religious criminalization (28), and religious restriction (19).
28 violations occurred in West Java, 25 violations occurred in Jakarta, and 22 violations occurred in East Java.
"We also recorded good practices," Wahid Foundation director Yenny Wahid said.
The non-governmental organization recorded 259 good practices last year. As many as 123 good practices were committed by state actors. The remaining 136 good practices were committed by non-state actors.
