medcom.id, Jakarta: House of Representatives Commission I overseeing intelligence has approved the nomination of Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan as State Intelligence Agency (BIN) chief.
The Commission I conducted a fit and proper test for Budi Gunawan on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
"Budi Gunawan is fit and proper as BIN chief," Commission I member Abdul Kharis Almasyahri announced after the test.
President Joko Widodo nominated Budi Gunawan as new BIN chief last week. He will replace retired army lieutenant general Sutiyoso.
He currently holds position as National Police deputy chief. He will be the second BIN chief with police background.
