medcom.id, Semarang: President Joko Widodo will inaugurate seven new governors who were elected in simultaneous regional elections last year. The ceremony will be held at Istana Merdeka on Friday (2/12/2016)
The seven governors come from West sumatra, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Kalimantan, North kalimantan and North Sulawesi.
"Seven governors and vice governors that are not having election dispute trial at Constitutional Court will be inaugurated tomorrow," said Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo in Semarang, Thursday (2/11/2016).
Meanwhile, 209 new regents and mayors will be inaugurated by their respective provincial government on February 17.
The regional leaders then will be briefed by president. "So we will have strong chain of command," continued Thahjo.
The PDIP politician added there are 20 regional leaders that is still facing election dispute trials at constitutional court while some regional leaders cannot be inaugurated until June due to regulation.
