Gov't Will Not Apologize on 1965 Tragedy: Luhut

medcom.id, Jakarta: Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law and Security, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan affirmed that the government will not apologize on the 1965 tragedy. The government will only focus on resolving the case.
 
"We have never thought of apologizing," said Luhut following a national symposium titled 'Dissecting 1965 Tragedy, Historical Approach' in Jakarta, Monday (4/18/2016).
 
According to Luhut, the government wishes to resolve all human rights violations in Indonesia. "We, as a great country, wish to resolve our history. It is part of a dark ages that we need to resolve," he stated.
 
Luhut said the government continues to investigate the exact number of victims. According to the retired general, the current data is still unclear.
 
"It is cause and effect, who do we say sorry to? Which victims, we will see. We are studying it all," he said.
 
Luhut added that the government will resolve human rights cases objectively. 
"We hope it will not be repeated in future times. We listen to all inputs, then we will formalize it in a team. We will see the next step," he stated.
