Religious Minister Laments Attack to the Ahmadiyya Mosque

medcom.id, Yogyakarta: Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin lamented attack to the Ahmadiyya Mosque in Kendal, Central Java. He urged people to resolve problem according to the law. 
 
"Let officials do their jobs. Do not take it into your own hands," said Lukman in Yogyakarta, Monday (5/23/2016).
 
Lukman said he has instructed his staff to investigate the incident. "My Ministry should find out the cause of the attack," he continued.

Al Kautsar Mosque operated by Ahmadiyya followers in Purworejo village, Ringinarum Dstrict, Kendal, Central Java, was destroyed by a mob on Sunday, May 22. Before the incident, Purworejo village chief has warned the Ahmadiyya group to close the building.
 
However, Ahmadiyya leader in Ringinarum District, Tazis, claimed that the mosque has the required permit. "The construction started in 2004. The building received permit in 2006. Some residents tried to seal the mosque in 2012," he elaborated.
 
Kendal Police Chief, AKBP Maulana Hamdan, said that the case is under investigation. "The residents are advised to avoid violence and prioritize dialogue," he stated.
