medcom.id, Jakarta: People Conscience (Hanura) Party has insisted to keep Wiranto as its chairman.
President Joko Widodo recently picked the retired general as Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law and Security Affairs. Jokowi repeatedly mentioned his ministers should not take multiple jobs.
"We don't want him to step down. We can make him non-active and then appoint an acting chairman," said Hanura politician Syarifudin Suding at the Hanura headquarters, Jakarta, Friday (7/29/2016).
A meeting was conducted at the Hanura headquarters this afternoon regarding the issue. The party officials decided to appoint Chairuddin Ismail as the acting chairman.
"From now on, I am non-active," said Wiranto after the meeting.
