medcom.id, Jakarta: A moment after stepping down from his position as Military Chief, General Moeldoko conveyed a message to General Gatot Nurmantyo, the new Military Chief. He asked Gatot to realize three strategic plans of the military.
"The strategic plan to build military strength, strategic plan to improve welfare along with the strategic plan of military weaponry maintenance and repair. Those are the three never ending items," said Moeldoko after handing over the position as the Military Commander in Chief at the Military Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday (7/14/2015).
Moeldoko stated that within the three strategic plans lie the ability and power of the military in conducting its duties and capabilities to create regional stability. The idea is also to provide positive contributions to the stability of Indonesian maritime security in the midst of regional and global challenges.
"To be consistently continued, as the three (plans) are the backbone to build the capable military units in the future," he stated.
As informed, General Moeldoko today handed over the duties and responsibilities as military chief to General Gatot Nurmantyo. The handover ceremony of the military chief was held at 08.00AM local time (WIB) at the Cilangkap Military Headquarters, East Jakarta, Tuesday (7/14/2015).
The handover ceremony involved 1,664 personnel from the land, air and sea branches, as well as military civil servants. The ceremony is the follow up of the Presidential Decree No. 49/TNI/2015 on the relief and inauguration of military chief on July 6, 2015. Gatot Nurmantyo was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the State Palace. (EPS)
