medcom.id, Jakarta: The Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) workers began a week-long labor strike on Thursday, August 3, 2017.
The labor strike was started at around 07.00 AM Western Indonesia Time. It was staged by more than 95 percent of JICT workers.
The JICT workers questioned a contract extension between Pelindo II and Hutchison. They claimed the contract extension is not in line with the law.
"JICT's annual revenue is around Rp3.5-4 trillion. It is very attractive," the JICT Labor Union secretary general Muhammad Firmansyah said.
JICT is a subsidiary of Pelindo II. It is the largest container terminal in Indonesia.
