medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo had appointed Retired Lieutenant General Sutiyoso as the candidate for the Head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN). The appointment letter was received by the House of Representatives last night.

"We have received the letter last night, including on the Head of BIN. He had appointed Mr. Sutiyoso to replace Mr. Marciano," Speaker of the House Setya Novanto said at the House's Building, Senayan, Jakarta (6/9/2015).

The letter of appointment to the Chairman of the Indonesian Justice Unity Party (PKPI) is to be discussed in the plenary session, as it is to be forwarded to the Deliberation Council. Lt. General Marciano Norman was inaugurated as the Head of BIN on October 19, 2011.

Sutiyoso was surprised by his appointment as the Head of BIN. He stated he is prepared to lead the institution.

"Well, I haven't been notified personally. I'm shocked. If it happens, I am prepared to conduct the duty," Bang Yos, Sutiyoso's nickname, answered through phone conversation with journalists in Jakarta, Wednesday (6/10/2015).

According to the former Deputy Commandant General of Army's Special Force, intelligence is not a new thing for him, since he had served for quite some time at the Sandi Yudha corps.

"Intelligence happens to be my habitat then," explained the former Jakarta Governor for two periods. If the House approves, Bang Yos is to replace the current position chaired by Retired Lt. General Marciano Norman.
