Muslim Conservatives Start Dec 2 Rally

medcom.id, Jakarta: Muslim conservatives have started the December 2 Rally at the National Monument.
 
The National Movement to Safeguard the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (GNPF-MUI) chairman Bachtiar Nasir welcomed the participants.
 
"We will greet the world," he said on Friday (12/2) morning.

Several Muslim organization leaders joined the rally including the Islamic Defenders Front chairman Rizieq Shihab.
 
Police offcials also attended the event such as National Police chairman Gen. Tito Karnavian and Jakarta Metro Police chief Insp. Gen. Mochamad Iriawan.
 
"Police are our friends," he continued.
