medcom.id, Jakarta: Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) finally gave explanation about the dismissal of deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Fahri Hamzah. In a written statement, PKS explained that Fahri often ignored decisions by the party leadership.
The statement revealed that Fahri, who is known for his controversial remarks, has been warned since last year. The party leadership asked him to maintain the party's image and refrain from controversies.
Unfortunately, the warning was ignored by Fahri. The party leadership then decided to summon the politician in October 2015.
In the meeting, Fahri was given two options, resignation or dismissal. He promised to submit his resignation in December 2015.
Nevertheless, he ignored the promise. The party had no choice and dismissed this month.
List of misconducts
PKS listed several violations conducted by Fahri. First, Fahri mocked his own colleagues in the parliament as "a bit stupid". He then reported by his colleagues to the House Ethics Tribunal. He received light sanction for the violation.
Next, Fahri once claimed that the parliament has agreed to dissolve Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Furthermore, Fahri also defended several unpopular projects. He was considered too focus on projects than the party's programs.
