medcom.id, Jakarta: The Jakarta Metro Police has confirmed the blasphemy trial of Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) will be conducted at the old Central Jakarta District Court building.
The North Jakarta District Court previously announced that its own building currently is under renovation.
"It will be conducted at Gajah Mada street," Jakarta Metro Police chief Inspector General Mochamad Iriawan on Friday (12/9).
"The police will guard the location," he continued.
The trial will be led by chief judge Dwiarso Budi Santiarto. The first hearing will be held on Tuesday (12/13).
Several Muslim organizations reported the Jakarta governor last October after he made a comment about a verse in the holy Koran.
The police named the politician as a suspect last month. They also banned him from travel abroad.
