medcom.id, Jakarta: Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) thinks the House of Representatives (DPR) is not at their optimum performance. JK mentioned the House should work more and shorten the recess period.
"If more work is needed than recess should be shortened," JK said at the Vice Presidential Office, Veteran III, Central Jakarta, Thursday (5/28/2015).
Kalla thinks the main duties of legislative members are to craft laws. Furthermore, DPR also has another assignment to design the (state) budget. Legislators, he explained, should also oversee the government's performance.
JK assessed the initial task of the House is stagnant. He asked DPR to work harder. "Well, the first task, legislative, as we know, is not too advanced, not too good. If not too advanced they have to work even more," JK concluded.
