The Causes of Prostate Cancer

Sri Yanti Nainggolan • 17 May 2016 17:22
medcom.id, Jakarta: Based on the data from the American Cancer Society, about one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.

Why does someone have prostate cancer?

"Family history is the strongest risk factor for prostate cancer," said Dr. Hery Tiera, Urologist at Pondok Indah hospital, Jakarta to Metrotvnews.com, recently.

The disease usually affected men above 50 years old. Another data from American Cancer Society mentions about six out of ten men above 65 years old have prostate cancer.

Besides family history, lifestyle could also trigger the disease. People are advised to avoid high fat and cigarette.

Other statistic also shows African-American men suffer more prostate cancer than other groups in the United States (US).
