Another function is to back up the alternator should it fails to fulfill the electricity overload needed by the vehicle.
For motor vehicles using liquid battery, the maintenance should be extra if compared to those with dry batteries. The most important thing to be ensured is maintaining the battery liquid level from drying or over the assigned level.
The over-filling of battery liquid will cause the battery head to experience faster calcification. It reduces the battery's performance and shortens the battery life.
"Fill the battery liquid below the level pointed out, as it will cause higher evaporation when the battery is hot," explained Slamet Haryadi, Foreman in Toyota Auto 2000 Kalimalang.
"To prevent calcification on the battery's head, simply clean it by using hot water and tooth brush, and check the liquid condition once a week," Slamet concluded.
