According to Toha, a mechanic for Pit Stop autoshop in East Jakarta, the issue has often been found in analog indicators. Aside from that, it appears in the cars above five years of usage period.
"The cause is the buoy within the tank. There is a coil within the buoy. If the indicator does not function in maximum, it means the coil has weaken or rusty. It is incapable of moving the needle according to the instruction of the buoy," Toha said when talking to Metrotvnews.com in Jakarta recently.
"If the issue occurs, the buoy in the tank should be checked. The buoy can be fixed if it is not badly damaged. However, it should be changed with a new one if it is not worth it. The goal is for you to have a safe drive," Toha said.
