medcom.id, Jakarta: Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2 (AADC 2) is a huge box office in Indonesia. In less than a week, the movie have recorded over a million audience.
AADC 2 started its screening on April 28, 2016, in Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. The movie got 200,000 viewers on its first day in Indonesia.
According to press release received by Metrotvnews.com, the movie is also a big success in Malaysia. It got RM300,000 or around one billion rupiah on its first day there.
"On the fifth day of the release, the number has breached one million!" said Mira Lesmana, the producer for AADC2.
"There are no other words but thank you to all audience who have given their attention and appreciation for AADC2," she continued.
AADC 2 is the sequel of Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (AADC) which was released 14 years ago. Many Indonesians still have fond memories of the original movie.
"The 14-year of waiting. It is like our reunion," said Nicholas Saputra who plays Rangga in the movie.
With the good response from the audience, AADC 2 may become this year's most popular movie in Indonesia. Currently, the record is held by Comic 8: Casino Kings Part 2, with approximately 1,835,644 audiences.
