"Regular maintenance is needed to prevent wear and tear. Wash your chain 3-4 times a month with gasoline or soap water," he told Metrotvnews.com, recently.
Chain lubrication is another important factor. It is better to use low viscosity lubricant such as SAE 10-15.
"Extra maintenance is needed during rainy season. Rain water and dirt could affect the chain," he continued.
Bikers should also consider the chain tension. If it is too tight, It will reduce the age of the chain.
"Many people make adjustment by cutting the chain. It is not recommended, because the chain will have short life span," he concluded.
