Sri Yanti Nainggolan • 07 October 2016 23:58
medcom.id, Jakarta: Father has crucial roles for child's growth and development.

"Father has at least four important roles," psychologist Naomi Soetikno said during a public discussion recently.

"Father should provide structure, warmth, access and games," she continued.

Naomi explained father should be firm. He should teach structure to the child.

In the other hand, he should be warm both physically and emotionally. He should give comfort and security.

Moreover, he should provide access. Communication is important to establish emotional connection.

Lastly, he should be playful. Playing games can help develop motor, cognitive and social skills. It also can stimulate intelligence.
